“Just like every volunteer, every minute that’s volunteered counts!”
It was Summer cleaning here at Refugee Resettlement Services on Monday, August 18th. In a matter of 2 ½ hours, 16 students from Mercyhurst University, along with some of our Afghan, Syrian, and Congolese clients, filled a 30-yard dumpster.
Not only did we get rid of unusable items and furniture, but we were also able to salvage many usable and useful items. These items were made available to clients and others in the community to take home for free.
Thank you to Bethany Woods, Director of Academic Community Engagement, and Mercyhurst Involvement for all your hard work, dedication, and willingness to help our Agency when we needed it most.
